finals finished, and now it's time for another great summer:

the one thing that love most about the summer, as Mickie Okamoto so eloquently puts it: is that during the summer you have the chance to focus on exactly what you want to do. That is expectations disappear, and the stress and the "frazzeledness" that is school, and everything goes away. And so for one time during the year it's true quality over quantity, because you know what you're doing, you know your passion and that's all you need to rocket boost you through the summer. Okay ready for the summer!

Bring on the Next Week

In honor of the hard work that everyone has put in last week, i decided that it was only appropriate to change the banner and the theme of the site. I suppose it's also in anticipation of another great great great week. mwahahahaha. I figured this was a perfect time as any to update the good 'ol xanga again.

So first and foremost look at this one:

To my dear sister and my dear friend, i can only say that i'm am soooooooo very proud of you beyond words, and of course i'll be there everyday this year next year and forever to support you in every and any way possible. That way you can title your facebook albums "the quarter that tina almost died, but didn't because she was saved by her oniisan." Congrats girl, i have no more words becasue i'm so happy for you.

To everyone else that has done so much this week, i know we're all ready to bring on the next week and "give 'em hell once again (that is the student body - because i know they LOATHE election time, with the flyers being stuffed down their throat etc)." But hell yeah once again, special shoutouts to a couple of people: like christine who's been there with me from the beginning, shouting, screaming, crying, etc. like jen for her crazy dedication, like mickie who's also been there from the beginning, and of course mr. fu for your crazy dedication too. and of course ose for inspiring me and pushing me to be better than I am from the beginning. and of course laure for helping me get through the week. For the thousands of hours you guys put in.... where's the burn out? where did the tiredness and burn out go? Damn straight, you guys inspire me so much that the tiredness, the burnout, the exhaustion all of that goes away. and i complain a lot, but you guys always listen. hell yeah, bring on the next week.

For everyone else, everyone has done something, and it's all appreciated and is equally inspiring, everything form playing taiko, to dancing, to flyering, IT'S ALL INSPIRING.

Night.

so after a long weekend of cn practicing........

my roomates and i decided to play around with the wig:

we decided that tony was the "cutest", roberto was "the one who looked the most like a guy simply with 'long hair,'" that andy was the most abnormal, and unfortunately i was voted as the one who looked the most like an actual girl. meeeeeeh.

**** o yeah edit, and if i were to look like a girl i would have looked like tina park. nyahahahahaha

i'm really not a big fan of putting random sh*t on my xanga, but something about this kind of sank into my heart, i really liked it and I felt the need (especially since i haven't updated in a while) to post it.

"Are you one of these women suffragists?" he murmured.
"Yes, i am," Perkins answered.
"Well, i am not. But if anyone ever gives them the vote, I hope you will remember that you would make a good Democrat."
Within a few months, Charles Murphy endorsed women's voting rights, and that too, soon became law.

What struck me as the most moving about this section was the ability to make a difference. It's excerpted from a book called Triangle, where the argument was that the women who perished in the fire weren't just martyrs or weren't just forgotten deaths, but they shaped a political party, they shaped Wagner and Al Smith and FDR and essentially shaped a nation that was to go through a huge depression. US History through Womens Eyes has done alot more for me than i previous expected going into this quarter, that's for sure.
